Van Theft Sparks High-Speed Chase in East Grinstead
Sussex Police’s Rural Crime Team (RCT) sprang into action after a van was stolen in Rotherfield around 3:20pm on Monday. The drama heated up when the driver ignored officers and sped off, triggering a pursuit with Wealden Police at about 4pm.
Driver Ditches Van, Flees on Foot
The high-speed chase ended abruptly near East Grinstead at 4:20pm when the suspect bailed out of the van and ran off on foot. Officers quickly seized the stolen vehicle, preventing any further danger.
Forensics Team Steps In
Sussex Police confirmed the stolen van is now in the hands of their forensic experts. A spokesperson said, “Our forensic team is now working their magic.” The investigation is ongoing.
