Van swipe sparks police hunt
Sussex Police’s Rural Crime Team (RCT) was tipped off about a van theft in Rotherfield at around 3:20pm on Monday.
Wild pursuit hits the streets
By 4pm, the RCT joined forces with Wealden Police to chase the stolen vehicle after the driver refused to stop. The adrenaline-fuelled pursuit tore through local roads, but it all ended just 20 minutes later.
Driver bolts, van recovered
The suspect ditched the van and fled on foot in East Grinstead at roughly 4:20pm. Police swiftly recovered the stolen vehicle and launched a forensic probe. A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “Our forensic team is now working their magic.”
