Tragic Triple Death at Epsom College Treated as Homicide

Police are probing a chilling triple death at a property within Epsom College. Officers were called just after 1am on Sunday, 5 February, where they found the bodies of three family members.

Victims Identified as Family of Three

Police are confident the victims are Emma Pattison, 45, her husband George, 39, and their seven-year-old daughter Lettie. Their deaths have been reported to the coroner, who will formally confirm their identities once post-mortems are complete later this week.

Firearm Recovered, Licensed to George Pattison

A licensed firearm registered to George Pattison was found and seized at the scene. Authorities have made no confirmation on causes of death while investigations continue.

George had contacted police just three days earlier to report a change of address. Given the proximity of that contact to the incident, a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Police Stress No Wider Threat; Community Reassured

Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey said:

“This is an incredibly traumatic incident. We are working around the clock to understand the exact circumstances involved. We appreciate public concern and will share updates when we can, respecting the privacy of those affected.”

Inspector Jon Vale, Epsom and Ewell’s Borough Commander, added:

“Though this tragic event was contained to one address with no wider threat, we understand it has shaken the community. Expect a heightened police presence locally in the coming days. If you have concerns, please speak to officers—they are here to help.”

Clearing Up Rumours: No Gun Range on Site

Police have dismissed speculation about a firing range at the location. They confirmed it is not part of the scene or the inquiry, calling any such reports inaccurate.

The families have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Authorities have asked for their privacy during this distressing time.
