Knuckleduster and deadly weapons seized in Mansfield police raid

Weapons Haul in Mansfield Warrant

Police smashed their way into a Mansfield home on Bilborough Road early Saturday (15 April), acting on crucial intelligence. Inside, officers uncovered a stash of illegal weapons, including a knuckleduster — now banned outright under the UK’s Offensive Weapons Act.

Deadly Arsenal Includes Zombie Knives and Throwing Stars

The haul didn’t stop there. The raid revealed forbidden items like zombie knives, curved swords, flick knives, friction lock batons, and throwing stars. These weapons have been illegal to possess in any private or public place since July 2021.

Drop Off Your Blades, No Questions Asked

Nottinghamshire Police encourages residents to hand in banned weapons safely. An amnesty bin has been available year-round at Mansfield Police Station. Additional drop-off points are set up at Radford Road and Newark police stations for hassle-free disposal.

More temporary amnesty bins will be launched next month at police stations across the county as part of the national Operation Sceptre campaign running from 15-21 May.

Police Urge Residents to Ditch Illegal Weapons

“There is no excuse for anyone to own a knuckleduster,” said PC Daniel Bingham of Nottinghamshire Police. “It is one of many offensive weapons now illegal to keep at home or anywhere else.

“If you have any of these weapons, hand them in immediately. Amnesty bins allow safe, no-questions-asked disposal. People worried about using them at police stations should rest assured – you won’t be in trouble.”
