Teenagers Arrested After Brutal Stabbing in Southampton
Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested following a horrific stabbing on Barnfield Road, Southampton. The ambulance service alerted police at 12.40am on October 27 after a serious assault left a 56-year-old man with stab wounds to his neck and stomach.
Victim in Hospital With Serious Injuries
The victim was rushed to Southampton General Hospital. While his injuries are severe, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Youth Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
Both teenagers, local to Southampton, are now in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder. Detective Sergeant Will Whale said:
“We are investigating an attempted murder after a serious assault took place on Barnfield Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Although this happened in a residential area late at night, we believe someone may have witnessed the incident.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives urge anyone with information to come forward. As Detective Sergeant Whale added:
“We understand this will cause concern in the community due to the ages involved. It’s crucial we uncover the facts. If you saw anything or know something, please contact us.”
