Erratic Driver Snared on Romney Road

At 1.35pm on Wednesday 5 October 2022, police stopped a car driving erratically on Romney Road, Ashford. The 43-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

Spider-Man Sock Hides Cocaine

During the stop, officers found a Spider-Man sock stuffed with multiple bags of what’s believed to be cocaine. This sparked a second arrest for possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Police Dog Sniffs Out £3,000 Cash and Samurai Sword

A search of the suspect’s home under the Misuse of Drugs Act unveiled more surprises. Police Dog Tilly detected around £3,000 in cash hidden inside another sock under a bed. Officers also seized a samurai sword from the property.

Suspect Released Pending Further Enquiries

The 43-year-old Ashford man was later released from custody as investigations continue.
