Massive Drug Bust Kicks Off 24 Days of Action in East Herts
Police launched a major crackdown as part of Operation Advent, signalling 24 days of tough action against crime across the district.
Multiple Warrants Executed, Drugs and Cash Seized
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood and East Herts Operation Scorpion teams, aided by the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Dog Unit, swooped on two addresses. Intelligence pointed to drug activity, and officers found large amounts of suspected Class A drugs and cannabis, along with cash.
Three Arrested, Two Released Under Investigation
- A 34-year-old man was arrested and later released under investigation as inquiries continue.
- A 21-year-old man was also released under investigation.
- A 30-year-old woman received a community resolution for cannabis possession.
Neighbourhood Inspector Vows to Keep Cracking Down
“These warrants followed public concerns about drug use and crime in the area,” said Neighbourhood Inspector Mark Collins. “We’re listening and will always act on intelligence to tackle those involved in crime. It’s what the public expects.
“Some criticise us for going after drug offences, but drugs are illegal for a reason.”
“People don’t realise the wider damage drug crime causes, especially how young and vulnerable people are exploited, leading to violence on our streets. Operations like this strike at the heart of those criminal networks.”
