A devastating car crash in Greater Manchester has resulted in the tragic deaths of a 42-year-old woman and a 15-year-old, leaving another teenager, aged 13, with serious injuries. A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident.
The horrifying collision occurred on Ripponden Road in Oldham around 4 pm on Saturday. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, the 42-year-old woman and the 15-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The third victim, a 13-year-old, was immediately transported to the hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
All three victims were occupants of the same vehicle at the time of the crash.
The driver of the second vehicle involved, a 35-year-old man who was the sole occupant, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody, where he will be questioned by authorities regarding the tragic incident.
Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has now launched an appeal for information from the public. They are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident or who has knowledge about the events leading up to it to come forward.
Furthermore, officers are seeking potential witnesses who may have captured footage related to the collision. This could include dashcam footage, mobile phone recordings, or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments preceding the crash.
