Tragedy at Legoland Windsor: Baby Dies After Cardiac Arrest in Ride Queue
A heart-breaking drama unfolded at Legoland Windsor last week when a five-month-old baby suffered a cardiac arrest while waiting in line for the Coastguard HQ ride. Despite urgent life-saving attempts, the infant tragically passed away days later.
Desperate Efforts to Save Infant
The chilling scene began as a woman frantically called for help in the queue. Two paramedics nearby sprang into action, providing CPR and emergency care on the spot. The baby was rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but sadly died three days later, on Sunday.
Matthew Burns, a retired paramedic who was present, recalled the frantic attempts: “Alongside another off-duty medic, we did everything we could until the emergency services arrived.”
Police Launch Investigation, Arrest Made
Authorities quickly launched a probe into what caused the tragedy. A 27-year-old woman from Witham, Essex, has been arrested on suspicion of negligence causing unnecessary injury but is currently released on bail.
Detective Constable Zoe Eele from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit appealed for witnesses. “We ask anyone who was queuing near the Coastguard HQ ride between 11:30 am and 12:45 pm on May 2 to come forward,” she said, urging respect for the grieving family.
