Teen Shot Dead at Family Fun Day in West London’s ‘Teletubbies Park’
A shocking shooting at Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance, known locally as “Teletubbies Park” in Ladbroke Grove, has left the community devastated. A 15-year-old boy was fatally shot during a family fun day hosted by the Caribbean Music Association’s annual “Park Lime” event.
Targeted Attack Shatters Peaceful Event
The horror unfolded just after 7pm on Sunday when a gunman fired a warning shot to scatter the crowd. Moments later, he aimed and shot the teenage victim in what witnesses described as a cold, targeted assassination tied to gang rivalry. Despite a rapid response from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and Air Ambulance, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six men have now been arrested on suspicion of murder, sending shockwaves through the local community and those attending the day’s music, food stalls, and children’s activities.
Crime Thriller Shoot Halted by Real-Life Violence
The tragedy came just hours before a film crew was due to start shooting a crime thriller titled “Fuze” at the same park. The crew expressed their sorrow, highlighting the cruel irony of filming a violent drama amid actual gun violence. Police have set up a forensic tent and cordoned off the area, collecting CCTV footage and evidence to piece together the deadly events.
Community in Shock as Police Hunt Gunman
Eyewitnesses described panic and chaos as families scrambled for safety. One mother of two called the neighbourhood “bandit country,” voicing fears for her own children’s safety. Kensington and Chelsea Council leader Elizabeth Campbell visited the scene, mourning the loss of a young life at what should have been a peaceful family gathering.
The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone with information or video footage to come forward and help bring those responsible to justice.
