Crash Shuts Down Busy Road for Hours
Two women were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a nasty collision on the A350 near Blandford. The smash happened just after 4.30pm on Thursday, 31 July, close to the Golden Fox pub in Sturminster Marshall.
The crash involved a black Audi Q3 and a grey Ford Fiesta. The Audi driver, a woman in her 70s from Poole, and the Ford driver, a woman in her 20s, also from Poole, both needed urgent medical attention.
Emergency teams shut the road for around three hours to investigate and clear the wreckage. The A350 finally reopened at about 7.45pm.
Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
PC Dan Yates from Dorset Police’s Roads Policing Team is urging anyone with dashcam videos or information to come forward.
“We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and are seeking anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch. I am also keen to speak to any motorists who saw the incident or the manner of driving of the vehicles in the moments leading up to it.
I would like to thank the public for their patience while the road closure was in place as this allowed us to carry out a detailed scene examination.”
