Garden Bonfire Sparks Emergency Response in Ramsgate
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a small garden blaze on Whitehall Road, Ramsgate, after reports of an unattended bonfire on Friday evening.
Swift Action Stops Fire in Its Tracks
Two fire engines arrived at around 6:37 PM to find an uncontrolled bonfire threatening to spread. Firefighters quickly doused the flames with buckets of water, preventing damage to nearby allotments and homes.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported from the incident.
Fire Service Issues Urgent Safety Warning
“We want to remind the community to never leave bonfires unattended and to ensure they are fully extinguished after use. Even small fires can quickly spread and pose risks to nearby structures and people.”
The fire service urged locals to always keep water or firefighting gear close by when burning garden waste and to avoid lighting bonfires on windy days.
