Tottenham Shooting Victim Named as Murder Probe Intensifies

Detectives have identified the fatal shooting victim in Tottenham as 27-year-old Mahad Abdi Mohamed. Police continue to investigate the murder and have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Two Men Shot on Waverley Road

Emergency services were called to Waverley Road, N17, just after 8.45pm on Thursday, 20 March following reports that two men had been shot. Mr Mohamed was found with a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.

A 26-year-old man also suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and remains in hospital in stable condition after surgery.

Detectives Plead for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford from the Met’s Specialist Crime North team is leading the inquiry. She said:

“Two men were shot on a residential street on Thursday, with one man sadly losing his life. We recognise the impact this will have on the local community. My team is working diligently to gather evidence and establish what led to this tragedy.”

DCI Woodsford urged anyone who was near Waverley Road after 8pm on 20 March to share any information, no matter how small. She added that officers will continue to engage with residents to reassure the community as the investigation progresses.

Crime Scene Still Active, No Arrests Yet

A crime scene remains in place on Waverley Road while forensic teams carry out their work. So far, no arrests have been made. Police are working tirelessly to catch those responsible.
