Police Federation Chief Suspended Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations
John Apter, head of the Police Federation of England and Wales, has been suspended amid shocking sexual misconduct claims. Hampshire Constabulary pulled the plug on Apter following allegations tied to four separate incidents.
Independent Probe Launched
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched a full investigation. Two of the alleged incidents are now also being pursued as criminal cases.
Police Federation Acts Fast
A spokesman for the federation said: “John Apter has been suspended after his police force took action. We acted as swiftly as possible.” No further comments were given.
Until further notice, Vice-Chair Ché Donald will step up to handle federation duties.
