Man Hospitalised After Brutal Head Injury in Maidstone Brawl
Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking assault left a man with serious head injuries in Maidstone.
Violence Erupts on Busy Footpath
The attack happened on Thursday, 30 July 2020, between 4pm and 5pm. The victim, a man in his 20s, was walking with a friend from Maidstone East train station towards St Peter’s Street when they crossed paths with a large group of 20 to 30 young men and teenagers.
An alleged scuffle broke out, resulting in the victim being assaulted. It’s believed he fell and hit his head hard on the pavement.
Victim Taken to Hospital, Police Plead for Witnesses
The injured man managed to get home where ambulance crews were called. He was rushed to hospital but has since been discharged, though his head injuries were serious.
“We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances surrounding this assault and are following a number of lines of enquiry,” said DC Chris Welham of Maidstone CID.
“We want to speak to anyone who saw the group of around 20 to 30 young men and teenagers before, during, or after the incident.”
