UPDATED:Emergency services called to persons trapped in overturned car in Portsmouth

Emergency services have been called to free a number of people who are trapped after their vehicle rolled and overturned this evening in Portsmouth.

Part of New Road in Copnor has been closed off to asssit emergency services.
The closure is just before Pam’s flower shop in the town and Police have also closed Copnor bridge.
Police, Fire crews from Southsea and Paramedics from South Central ambulance service have all been called to the incident that happened just before  10pm on Sunday evening.

Fire crews are using specialist cutting equipment to free those trapped in the vehicle that is understood to be a Silver Micra with two people trapped within the vehicle.

UPDATE:
Two people have bee freed by the fire service and been treated by paramedics at the scene they have since been transported by ambulance to the QA hospital in Portsmouth.

The road has since been reopened
