Police Hunt Reckless Driver Who Nearly Mowed Down Cyclist in Lambeth

London’s Met Police have named Shane Seymour as the man they’re hunting after a terrifying near-miss on a bike during the rush hour in Lambeth.

Stolen Audi Speeds Towards Cyclists, Sparks Chaos

On the morning of Wednesday 1 August, just before 8am, a black Audi A3 – later found to be stolen with false plates – zoomed dangerously close to a cyclist near Clapham North Station. The driver came inches from knocking the rider into the road after a reckless overtake in the bus lane.

Eyewitness footage from a cyclist’s head-cam has emerged showing the Audi narrowly missing the victim. The driver, Shane Seymour, pulled up beside the cyclist at traffic lights, hurled objects from his car, and then accelerated towards him before swerving off. The madness continued as Seymour almost hit another cyclist on Dorset Road and then drove onto the pavement to escape a gathering crowd, only to be confronted by unmarked police. He reversed at speed and vanished.

Police Appeal: Know This Man? Don’t Approach – Call 999

Detective Constable James Preston said: “It is only a matter of luck no-one was seriously injured or killed by this reckless driver. We urgently need to find Shane Seymour, known to South London and Canterbury. If you see him, do not approach him. Call 999 immediately.”

“We’re also appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident but hasn’t come forward to help us with any info. Every detail counts.”
