Police were called to reports that a man had been seriously assaulted at an address in Stamford Street, Ilkeston, this evening at 4.45 pm.
Officers remain at the scene and several roads in the area will be closed for the coming hours.
While we are in the early stages of this investigation it appears to be an isolated incident that has occurred within a premises in Stamford Street.
