London rocked by deadly knife spree: One dead, four injured in four attacks
A terrifying wave of stabbings swept across London over just two days, leaving one man dead and four others injured. The Metropolitan Police are investigating after violent attacks hit Archway, Norbury, Streatham, and Twickenham between Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.
Archway Underground Chaos: Man Slashed in Leg
At 6:10pm on Friday, Archway Underground Station was shut down after police scrambled to reports of a stabbing. A man was found with a wound to his leg. He received emergency treatment at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Fortunately, police confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening.
Norbury Horror: Two Boys Stabbed, Woman Arrested
Before 10pm on Friday, officers were called to Acacia Road in Norbury following a brutal stabbing attack. Two boys were seriously injured but thankfully their wounds are “non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.” A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and remains in custody as inquiries continue.
Streatham Nightmare: Man Attacked Near Busy Station
Just before 2am Saturday, a man was stabbed outside Streatham Station on Streatham High Road. The victim was taken to hospital and doctors confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening. The attack near this busy south London transport hub has raised fresh concerns over public safety.
Twickenham Tragedy: Man Killed in Fatal Stabbing
Tragedy struck in Twickenham on Saturday night. Police rushed to Ellerman Avenue just before 11:40pm where 38-year-old Harpal Singh Roopra was found with serious stab wounds. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he was declared dead at the scene. George Luka, 45, from the same street, has been charged with murder and will appear in court.
Police Sound Alarm as Knife Crime Crisis Deepens
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “These incidents demonstrate the ongoing challenge we face in tackling knife crime across London. We continue to work closely with communities to prevent violence and bring offenders to justice.”
