Tragic Loss: Teen Dies in Newham Flat Fire
The family of 15-year-old Tiffany Regis have paid a heartfelt tribute after she died in a devastating house fire on Tollgate Road, Beckton, Newham, last Thursday (April 6). Tiffany, described as a “blessing from God,” tragically died at the scene.
Investigation Underway, Teen Arrested
The fire also injured several others, but thankfully none seriously. A 16-year-old boy was arrested that same day on suspicion of murder. He was taken to an East London police station and later released on bail, with a return hearing scheduled for early May while the probe continues.
Heartbreaking Tribute from Tiffany’s Family
Tiffany’s family remember her as a bright, promising young girl “taken away from us too soon.” They have set up a GoFundMe in her honour, raising over £4,400 to help with funeral costs. The page reads: “In loving memory of Tiffany, our angel. Please help us send off our baby.”
Her mother, Roni, shared,
“Tiffany had high hopes for her mocks and GCSEs after Easter. She touched so many hearts at school, her youth club, and around the community. We believe she was given to us for a reason—a precious gift from God. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.”
Police Treat Fire as Arson, Appeal for Info
Following a post-mortem confirming Tiffany died from smoke inhalation, the Met Police’s Specialist Crime Command are treating the blaze as arson. A cordon remains at the scene as investigations continue.
