Teen Charged With Murder After Rainham Stabbing Shock

Police were scrambled to Louise Gardens, Rainham, just before 8pm on Wednesday, 1 December, following reports of a street disturbance involving a group of people.

Man Stabbed to Death in Rainham

Officers arrived to find a 37-year-old man, later identified as Amandeep Mickey Singh Johal, unresponsive with a stab wound. Paramedics battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.

Woman Injured in Incident

A woman was also discovered with a wrist injury and rushed to hospital. Thankfully, her injuries are not life-threatening.

Multiple Arrests as Murder Investigation Unfolds

  • On 9 December, police arrested a 17-year-old male and two 14-year-old boys on suspicion of murder.
  • One 14-year-old has been charged with Mr Johal’s murder and possession of a bladed weapon.
  • He appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on 11 December and was remanded in custody, before being released on bail at the Old Bailey on 14 December.
  • The other two males are on bail pending further inquiries.
  • Earlier, four women aged 21 to 48, plus a 17-year-old girl, had been arrested on suspicion of murder but were later released on bail until late December.
