Six shops hit by brazen theft spree in Nottingham – suspect arrested!

Thieves Snatch Glasses, Watches, and More

A string of robberies between 16 January and 20 March 2023 saw glasses frames, clothing, watches, jewellery, and even a Bluetooth speaker stolen from six well-known retailers.

Target List Includes Specsavers and Superdry

The shops targeted were no strangers to shoppers: Specsavers, British Heart Foundation, Superdry, Claire’s Accessories, Superdrug, and Menkind all fell victim to the thefts.

Suspect Busted and Charged

Police arrested Maciek Parczewski from Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham, on Wednesday 22 March. He faces nine charges of theft and appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 24 March.

Police Crackdown on Shoplifting

“Shoplifting offences can have a significant impact on retailers and are taken very seriously by Nottinghamshire Police,” said Sergeant Rich Tiernan of the Nottingham City Centre neighbourhood policing team.

“We are continuing to work alongside partners to clamp down on theft and I am pleased we have now charged a suspect in this case.”
