Brutal High Street Attack Sees Man Jailed for Six Years

Ian Robinson, from Andover, was locked up for six years after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent. The savage attack left the victim with severe facial injuries and bruising at a home on the town’s High Street.

Violent Assault Shocks Local Community

The horrific incident happened on Thursday, 19 November last year. Following a thorough probe by Hampshire Constabulary, Robinson was charged and sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on 1 September.

Detective Praises Victim’s Courage

“This was a particularly nasty incident in which the victim suffered horrific injuries inside her home,” said Detective Constable Matt Deery from Basingstoke CID.

“I hope this sentence helps the victim move forward with her life. I want to commend her bravery and courage throughout the investigation. We take these offences extremely seriously and will do everything to bring offenders to justice.”
