Carer Jailed for Abusing Vulnerable Patient
Naguib Lootfun, 69, of Mill Walk, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexually abusing a vulnerable patient at an assisted living facility. The disturbing case came to light after colleagues discovered an empty condom wrapper in a patient’s bedroom.
Suspicious Evidence Sparks Investigation
On 8 May 2024, staff at the care home found the wrapper discarded following Lootfun’s night shift. He claimed it had accidentally fallen from his pocket. However, the following day, police found a used condom in a bin bag on the premises, leading to Lootfun’s arrest on suspicion of rape.
Despite initially denying the allegations, forensic tests later linked Lootfun’s DNA to a second used condom found outside the building, sealing his fate.
