Driver Jailed After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Hove
Kamil Zieba, 42, from Waterloo Street, Hove, has been locked up for causing death by careless driving. The tragic crash happened when Jennifer Davies, 69, was crossing the road. She was struck and sadly died from her injuries two days later.
Three and a Half Years Behind Bars
Hove Crown Court sentenced Zieba to three and a half years in prison. He’s also been disqualified from driving for four years and nine months.
Police Slam Careless Driver
“Zieba’s driving that day put the safety of other road users at risk,” said Detective Constable Jake Dallaway. “Drivers should always maintain proper concentration and control of their vehicle, and should always be considerate of other road users while driving.
“By not paying attention to those around him, Zieba caused this tragic collision which was needless and avoidable.”
