Two Arrested in Ashford Over Late-Night Firearms Scare

Kent Police swooped after a disturbance in Ashford that had locals fearing for their safety. Two men are now in custody on suspicion of firearms offences following a tense street clash.

Chaos Erupts at Midnight in Monkton Close

Officers raced to Monkton Close just after midnight on Wednesday, 30 September 2020. Witnesses reported hearing shots fired during a fierce argument between two groups on the street.

Two Men Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

  • A 20-year-old Ashford man was grabbed shortly after the incident. He’s been bailed until 21 October.
  • Later the same day, a 24-year-old from Ashford was arrested and remains in police custody.

Weapons Seized as Police Probe Deepens

Police have recovered a catapult and blank ammunition as part of the inquiry. Officers are keen to hear from anyone with info on the disturbance.
