Young Drug Dealer Busted in Chatteris After Police Raid Uncovers Stash
£100 Cocaine and £360 Cannabis Found in Police Raid
Ki Seward, 21, was arrested on 24 May last year after the Neighbourhood Policing Team raided his Chapel Lane home. Inside, officers found £360 worth of cannabis, £100 of cocaine, digital weighing scales, and several mobile phones.
A suspicious golf-ball-sized wrap of phenacetin—a cocaine cutting agent—was hidden inside the cooker’s extractor hood alongside a small set of digital scales.
New Evidence Leads to Second Arrest
Seward was released under investigation but re-arrested on 9 June when police uncovered incriminating evidence from his mobile phones. A follow-up search revealed another set of scales and a money tin hidden under his bed, with the key cleverly stashed inside a deodorant bottle.
The tin contained £650 in cash, plus around £110 worth of cannabis and £280 in cocaine.
Cambridge Crown Court Hands Down Suspended Sentence
On Thursday, Seward was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court to two years in prison, suspended for two years. He had admitted to two counts of possession with intent to supply cocaine and two counts for cannabis.
He was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and a 30-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
“This has been a long investigation with a lot of hard work from the local neighbourhood team,” said Detective Constable Tom Adams. “Drug dealing brings misery to communities across the county, so we’re committed to bringing offenders to justice.”
Community Urged to Speak Out
Police encourage anyone with information about drug dealing in the area to submit a report online to help keep their communities safe.
