Drug Dealer Locked Up After Phone Links Him to Maxwell Gang
Thomas Warrick was busted in Rochford on 1 December last year after police traced drug marketing messages back to his phone. He was caught with £480 in cash and the phone used by the notorious Maxwell drugs line that peddled cocaine and heroin across Southend.
29-Year-Old Admits Role in Lying Low While On Licence
The 29-year-old from Prospect Close, Southend, pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine and heroin and handling criminal property when he appeared at Basildon Crown Court on 6 January.
Today, Monday 25 January, Warrick was sentenced to five years and eight months behind bars. The court heard he had a prior drug conviction and was still on licence when he set up the Maxwell line, showing no signs of going straight.
Police Slam Warrick’s ‘No Regard’ Attitude to Community Harm
“Thomas Warrick showed no regard for the damage his drug dealing caused in the community, he was only motivated by money,” said Sergeant Rob Maile from Operation Raptor South.
“Every day, we see the violence, fear, and destruction caused by these gangs. What worries us most is how they exploit teenagers, children and vulnerable adults, using false promises and intimidation.”
“That’s why we’re relentless in hunting down and prosecuting dealers like Warrick who continue to wreck lives.”
