Couple Caught Faking Email to Dodge Jail

Sham Email Scandal Rocks Northampton

Jamie Jess Kightley, 27, from Northampton, and Danielle Louise Driver, 27, thought they could beat the system. Their scheme? Send a fake email to clear Kightley of another crime. The email pretended to be from the victim, claiming the original allegations were lies and offering a heartfelt apology. If real, it would have smashed the prosecution’s case.

Fake Email Exposed, Justice Served

But the plan quickly unraveled. The email was a forgery – sent by Kightley and Driver themselves, not the victim. At Northampton Crown Court last week, both admitted to perverting the course of justice. Kightley got a 16-month prison sentence. Driver received a 12-month community order.

Police Slam Plot to Scam Justice

“This was a sordid effort by this pair to try and exonerate Kightley of a crime,” said Lead Investigator DC Jamie 1. “Our thorough probe revealed the email was fake. I’m glad both pleaded guilty.”

“Fair justice is a cornerstone of society. Attempts to undermine it are taken very seriously,” the officer added.
