- Another associate, Robert Gerard, handed himself in after 3 years on the run and was jailed for 14 years.

Moogan had access to half a million euros at a time to fund cocaine deals, paying in lump sums via Iraqi nationals based in the UK — avoiding the usual instalment payments. His shipments came concealed in meat from Argentina, with bribed port officials ensuring safe passage.

Dubai Police Crack Down, Moogan Finally Caught
In April 2021, Dubai Police arrested Moogan after a high-tech manhunt. Using multiple fake IDs and a German passport, he even fooled security cameras until clever detective work tracked him down.
“Moogan did everything he could to avoid this day but justice has finally caught up with him,” said NCA Senior Investigating Officer Ben Rutter.
“His consignments of Class A drugs undoubtedly brought misery and real harm to UK communities.”
“Fugitives should take note – the NCA has global reach and will never stop hunting them.”
After his extradition to the UK, Moogan told officers: “You’re not going to have any trouble from me. I’m tired now. Get me up to Manny and get me in Cat A. I’m done now.”
