Police Bust Massive Cannabis Farm in Cambridgeshire
Officers from the Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team swooped on a Surrey Road property on 27 November after tip-offs from the public and their own intel.
Inside, they found five rooms packed with cannabis plants and arrested 27-year-old Viktor Sokolaj on the spot.
Farm Owner Slapped with Jail Sentence
Sokolaj, who lives on Arbury Road, Cambridge, admitted involvement in cannabis production. On 16 January at Peterborough Crown Court, he was handed a 12-month prison sentence.
Detective Urges Public to Stay Vigilant
“Thanks to information received and our own investigation, we were able to shut down this cannabis factory. We can’t be everywhere and rely on people in communities being our eyes and ears. If you suspect something isn’t right, it more than likely isn’t,” said Detective Constable Lauren Skinner.
She added that signs of illegal cannabis farms often include blacked-out windows and unusual foot traffic at odd hours. The police urge locals to report any suspicious activity immediately.
