Monster Rapist Kevin Lusted Found Guilty After Six-Year Abuse Spree
Spine-Chilling Crimes Uncovered
Kevin Lusted, from Spade Lane, Sittingbourne, faced a slew of horrifying charges after terrorising a vulnerable victim between 2016 and 2022. Despite denying all allegations, a Maidstone Crown Court jury found the 50-year-old guilty of 11 counts of rape and seven other sexual offences. The chilling abuse started when the victim was a child.
Threats and Abuse Revealed in Shocking Police Probe
Lusted was arrested in March last year following a Kent Police investigation that exposed a brutal pattern of systemic rape and sexual abuse. Disturbingly, he also threatened to tie up and shoot the victim, showcasing the cold-blooded nature of his crimes.
No Remorse from Callous Predator
Detective Constable Amy Neal, from the North Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, slammed Lusted as “dangerous, calculating and callous.” She said:
“Lusted targeted a vulnerable young person and repeatedly subjected them to sickening abuse for his own sexual gratification. He has shown no remorse for his appalling actions. The tremendous bravery the victim has shown throughout the trial has ensured that justice has now at least been served.”
Call to Action for Survivors
Detective Neal urged anyone suffering in silence to come forward:
“Successful convictions like this remind us it’s never too late to report sexual abuse. Victims will receive full support from specially trained officers and their information will be handled with utmost sensitivity and confidence.”
Lusted remains in custody ahead of sentencing, scheduled for 28 July at Maidstone Crown Court. The hunt for justice continues.
