Man charged with murder after stabbing in Woodford Green
Laurie John-Phillip, 32, from Enfield, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed weapon.
Fatal stabbing on Chigwell Road
Just after midnight on Friday, June 3, police rushed to Chigwell Road, Woodford Green, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers and paramedics found 39-year-old victim Mr Jackson from Hackney brutally injured with stab wounds. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect held and charged
Laurie John-Phillips was arrested the following day, Saturday, June 4, on suspicion of murder. He now faces formal charges.
He is set to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Monday, June 6.
Family and police respond
Mr Jackson’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers as the investigation continues.
