Man Arrested After Noxious Gas Attack in Brasslands Drive

Emergency services rushed to Brasslands Drive at 10.53am following reports of a disturbing incident. A man was arrested later that day in connection with the attack.

Victims Treated and Released

A woman affected by the substance was taken to hospital but discharged the same day. Thankfully, she is not expected to suffer any lasting harm. Another woman present was also treated for exposure and released without serious injury.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

Shaine Tester, 33, from Aldwick Road, Bognor, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 3 January. He’s facing a string of charges:

  • Assault
  • Possession of a weapon for discharging noxious liquid or gas
  • Two counts of assault against police officers
  • Possession of a Class B drug
  • Possession of offensive weapons in public, including four counts of carrying a knife

Tester was remanded in custody and will face court again at a later date.

Substance Details Still Under Wraps

The exact nature of the noxious substance remains unclear, but authorities say it did not contain acid. Investigations are ongoing.
