Teen Stabbed in 2016 Dies Four Years Later in Care Home
Jamel Boyce, stabbed aged 17 in October 2016, tragically died on 13 February 2022 at a care home on Uffington Road, SE27. His death was caused by injuries sustained in the brutal attack on Triangle Place, SW4.
Provisional Cause: Penetrating Chest Injury
A post-mortem on 16 February 2022 confirmed the cause of death as a penetrating injury to Jamel’s chest. The stabbing incident back in 2016 left him grievously wounded and led to an earlier conviction for grievous bodily harm with intent.
Murder Charge Now Laid After Fresh Investigation
After Jamel’s death, the Met’s Specialist Crime Command reopened the case. Last month, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a murder charge.
Accused Due in Court This Week
- Tyrese Osei-Kofi, 24, of no fixed address, faces murder charges.
- He is set to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on 27 December.
