A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Dontae McLaren after a violent knife fight in Lambeth shocked the community.

Dynzell Patrick appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, 3 October). He has been remanded in custody and is due to face the Old Bailey on Monday, 7 October. Patrick was arrested by police on Tuesday, 1 October, following the bloody clash.
Knife Brawl Erupts on Wandsworth Road
The deadly incident unfolded just after 4am on Sunday, 29 September, when police were called to reports of a large group fighting with knives on Wandsworth Road, SW8. Officers arrived swiftly alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Despite desperate attempts by emergency crews, 24-year-old Dontae McLaren was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers are actively supporting his family while the investigation continues.
