Norman Duncan has been locked up for life after being found guilty of murdering Margaret Robertson in her own home on 25 September 2019. He received a minimum 20-year sentence at sentencing on 1 June.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Gary 1 slammed the “horrendous and sustained attack” on Margaret in her flat — a place where she should have been safe.
“This was a particularly challenging investigation,” said DI Gary. “The successful outcome was due to the professionalism and teamwork of local officers, Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Teams, forensic experts, and Crown Office staff.”
“We also thank the local community for vital information, plus forensic and CCTV evidence that ensured this violent criminal faces justice.”
Family Pleads for Privacy After Tragic Loss
Margaret’s children, Michelle and Mark, released a heartfelt statement:
“We’ve waited over two and a half years for justice, which has taken a massive toll on us. Thanks to everyone who supported us, especially bereavement counsellors.”
“We endured weeks of devastating evidence that will haunt us forever. Our mum didn’t deserve such a brutal death and we still don’t understand why it happened. This man has taken so much from us.”
