Manhunt Underway After Shocking Acid Attack During Barking Robbery
A shopkeeper is fighting for his health after having acid hurled in his face during a botched robbery in Barking, East London.
Horrific Attack in Broad Daylight
The terrifying assault happened at a cash-and-carry store on Creek Road around 1pm on Friday, 10 November. Two men barged in attempting to rob the premises. When the shopkeeper resisted, they sprayed him with what police believe was acid.
The victim inhaled dangerous fumes and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. His condition remains unknown.
Two Armed Thugs on the Run
After the attack, the hoodlums fled the scene in a metallic-coloured car. Police have launched a full-scale manhunt to track them down.
- Suspect 1: Black male, around 40s, wearing a dark woolly hat, navy trousers, dark long-sleeved top, black trainers, and gloves.
- Suspect 2: Black male, around 40s, wearing a dark cap, sunglasses, navy blue jacket, dark trousers, trainers, and gloves.
Police Plea for Information
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of an altercation at a commercial premises on Creek Road, Barking at approximately 1pm on Friday, 10 November.
“They discovered a male who appeared to have suffered the effects of inhaling fumes, believed to have been caused by acid being thrown. The man was taken to an east London hospital. We await an update on his condition.
“It is believed two men entered the commercial premises in an attempted to commit a robbery. They threw the acid substance at the victim’s face before making off in a metallic-coloured vehicle.”
