Speeding Scandal: Motorist Slapped with £3,000 Fine and Six Points!
Maidenhead Man Busted Doing Nearly Double Speed Limit
John Loader, 55, from Maidenhead, thought he could get away with speeding on the B4042 on August 11. He pleaded not guilty at court but was found guilty of tearing through a 30mph zone at 58mph.
Heavy Penalties Handed Down at Salisbury Court
Loader appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on March 20 and was handed a hefty punishment: six penalty points on his licence, a £3,000-plus fine, and nearly £2,000 in costs to pay.
Police Warn: Speed Limits Save Lives
Special Constable Ken Bridgeman said, “We’re really pleased with this result. This man was seen travelling at 58mph in a 30mph zone.”
“The speed limit is there for a reason. A 30mph zone is usually enforced because the area is used by children and their families.”
He added, “This sentence goes to show that if you have committed a crime, hold your hands up as the penalty may be more severe.”
