Taxi Office Murder Verdict: Ricardo Linton Found Guilty

Ricardo Linton, 47, has been convicted of murdering 33-year-old Basharat and attempting to kill his colleague Jamshad Khan. The brutal attack happened at taxi offices in Bradford on 20 October 2001, a jury at Bradford Crown Court ruled today (Wednesday).

Linton now faces sentencing on Monday, 27 September, after being remanded in custody.

Road Rage Spirals Into Deadly Shooting

The killing followed a violent road rage incident in Bradford the day before Basharat was shot dead at Park Lane taxi offices. West Yorkshire Police uncovered that Linton fled to Jamaica after the shooting.

He was extradited to the US in 2004, where he was convicted of a 1993 murder and handed a minimum 25-year sentence. In September 2020, Linton was sent back to the UK to face fresh charges over the Bradford attack.

Family Seeks Justice

After today’s verdict, Basharat’s family shared a heartfelt photo of him, calling for justice to be served.
