Man Jailed for Horrific Kidnap and Sexual Assault on Boy Under 13
James William, 34, of no fixed address, was locked up after admitting to a chilling string of offences. He faced charges of kidnap, kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexually assaulting a boy under 13 by touching, and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Guilty Plea Sealed at February Hearing
William pleaded guilty on 20 February 2024. The court heard how the terrifying attack happened in August 2022, targeting a young boy.
Detective Constable Chloe King Leads Investigation
The probing officer on the case was Detective Constable Chloe King from Cumberland CID. Following the sentencing, she described William as a “dangerous offender who is now behind bars.”
She added,
“This was a terrifying incident for the victim and his family, and I hope today’s sentence brings them some closure. I would like to reassure our communities that incidents of this nature are extremely rare.”
Sentence: Minimum Four Years and Eight Months Behind Bars
William must serve at least four years and eight months in prison before being eligible for release. Authorities hope this strong sentence sends a clear message about the consequences of such vile crimes.
