Birmingham Man Jailed Over £4,500 Drug Haul in Stoke-on-Trent Raid
Kashif Ahmed, 22, from Birmingham, has been locked up for four years and five months after pleading guilty to multiple drug offences at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday, 22 March.
Police Snatch Huge Crack, Cocaine and Heroin Stash
Last March, officers raided an address in Normacot, Stoke-on-Trent, where Ahmed was caught red-handed. As police entered, Ahmed hurled two mobile phones out the upstairs window. These were quickly recovered and taken for evidence.
A thorough search uncovered a massive haul:
- Over 9 grams of crack cocaine, worth around £780
- £220 worth of heroin split into 11 wraps
- Two bags containing 2.91g cocaine and 5.10g heroin
- £2,000 cash hidden under a sofa cushion
- A package with 79.6 grams of cocaine, valued at £2,700
The total drugs seized are estimated to be worth up to £4,500.
Evidence Shows Drugs Sold Locally
Examination of the seized phones revealed messages advertising the drugs for local sale. Adding to the evidence, a package from America arrived during the raid containing pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes and vapes, which were also confiscated.
Police Praise Swift Justice
“These highly addictive and harmful substances have no place on our streets and I’m happy with the proactive action taken to remove them from circulation,” said PC Ian Prendergast.
“Those responsible for drug distribution in Stoke-on-Trent will be targeted and dealt with as robustly as possible.”
