Predator Pineda Jailed for 11½ Years After Savage Attacks on Two Women
Yonattan Aroldy Gonzalez Pineda, 33, a drifter with no fixed address, was slammed with an 11-and-a-half-year prison sentence at Wood Green Crown Court on Thursday, 1 July. He had been found guilty of viciously assaulting two women in separate attacks across London.
Bar Attack Ends in Bloodshed
On 30 November 2019, Pineda targeted a woman at a Southwark bar. Despite her clear refusals, he harassed her relentlessly, trying to start a conversation. When she left with a friend, Pineda followed.
Outside, he launched a brutal attack, smashing a glass bottle into her face. The victim fled to a nearby police station bleeding and terrified. Medics treated her facial lacerations, and police swiftly got involved.
Second Horrific Assault While Awaiting Trial
While on bail for the Southwark attack, Pineda struck again. On 23 June 2020, he imprisoned, assaulted, and raped a woman visiting him at his address in West Green Road, Haringey. The victim reported it to police the next day, prompting a manhunt.
He was arrested on 4 July 2020 and charged with rape, false imprisonment, and grievous bodily harm. Pineda denied all charges but was found guilty after a two-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court in March 2021.
Convictions and Sentencing
- Two counts of grievous bodily harm
- False imprisonment
- Rape
Pineda’s violent spree ended in a lengthy prison sentence, delivering justice to his victims and a stark warning to others that such crimes will not be tolerated.
