Mohammad Zubair Khan Faces Eight Terror Counts

Mohammad Zubair Khan, 21, from west London, was slapped with eight charges for spreading terrorist material. The charges came on Monday, 22 November, under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006. Khan is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court the very next day, Tuesday, 23 November.

Arrest and Detention Details

Khan was arrested on 16 November by the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command. A court granted a further detention warrant on 17 November, allowing police to hold him until 23 November.

Second Man Also Held in Terror Probe

A second suspect, aged 19, was also arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 during the same investigation. Police secured a warrant on 22 November to keep him detained until 30 November 2021, when the warrant expires.

Enquiries into the case are ongoing.
