Burglar Busted: Buster Goldsmith Locked Up for Breaking Into London Flat
Goldsmith Caught Red-Handed
Buster Goldsmith, 19, from Havering, has been sentenced to nearly five years behind bars for a chilling burglary in London. On Monday, 20 January, he pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and attempted burglary at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Just three weeks later, on 10 February, he was handed a hefty 58-month prison term.
Masked Gang Strikes in York Way Estate
Goldsmith was part of a gang of four that broke into a flat on the York Way Estate, N7, in the dead of night on Sunday, 11 August 2019. At 11.36pm, terrified occupants dialled 999, reporting masked men forcing their way inside and making threats.
The intruders, all hoodied and masked, fled when a light was switched on. Thanks to quick police response, Goldsmith was nabbed minutes later crouching by a car near the estate.
CCTV and Clues Seal the Case
Footage revealed the four suspects climbing a high fence before creeping into the building’s ground floor lobby wearing balaclavas, hoodies, and latex gloves. Goldsmith was charged the very next day.
Investigation Continues
Detective Constable Irfan Ahmad said: “This was a terrifying incident for the victims involved and they are still coming to terms with what happened that night. Their sense of security in their own homes – the place they should feel safest – has been shattered. We are pleased Goldsmith has done the right thing and acknowledged his involvement.
However, we know there were others involved and we’re continuing efforts to catch them.”
