Man Claims to Have Killed 123 Before Car Breaks Down
Lukasz Stachura, 41, shocked friends by boasting he’d killed 123 people across Northamptonshire during one wild night. His spree ended abruptly when his car broke down on the A6 near Desborough at 10.30am the next morning.
Crucial Evidence Found After Car Left Abandoned
The vehicle was abandoned at a nearby petrol station for 20 days before detectives seized it. Forensics uncovered Mr Leszczynski’s DNA on the passenger door handle and car seat fibres on his trousers. Stachura’s DNA was also found on a makeshift gag lodged in Mr Leszczynski’s mouth.
The gag was forced so deeply it caused his tongue to block his airway – likely the cause of death.
Botanists Link Car to Crime Scene, Detectives Praise Investigation
Police enlisted botanists to identify a rare tree leaf stuck under Stachura’s car, matching one near the victim’s body. A detailed reconstruction of the car’s movements helped trace his flight from the scene.
Judge Tayton praised the investigators, calling it “a painstaking investigation carried out to the highest standards.”
Detective Inspector Speaks Out on Case
“This has been an incredibly challenging investigation and our thoughts remain with Mr Leszczynski’s loved ones. I hope they find solace in today’s outcome,” said Detective Inspector Dale Mepstead.
“Stachura showed no remorse and spun a bizarre tale to dodge justice, despite overwhelming evidence. He’s a dangerous man who won’t roam free anytime soon.
“Thanks to experts and dedicated detectives, we pieced together the murder and brought Stachura to court. Let this sentence send a clear message: Bedfordshire won’t tolerate violence.”
Remembering the Victim
Mr Leszczynski, a loving father and uncle, was described in court as “a gentle character.” His family paid tribute, calling him “cheerful and affectionate.”
“Kamil was a wonderful person and a wonderful brother,” they said. “He loved his sister and was always caring and supportive. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.”
