Bradford Killer Jailed for Life After Brutal Stabbing
Zbigniew Soj, 24, from Bradford, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 31 years. He was convicted of murdering Borbala ‘Bori’ Benko, 24, and attempting to kill Klaudia Rogozinska, 21, in a savage attack in their shared accommodation on Sherbourne Road.
Victim Lost Her Life, Friend Left Fighting to Survive
Bori died on November 21 after being stabbed multiple times. Klaudia was critically injured and is still battling both physical and psychological scars from the horrifying assault.
Soj was arrested at the scene and charged three days later. The attack shocked the community, especially as Soj was someone both women trusted.
Detective Chief Inspector Condemns ‘Spontaneous’ Attack
“This was a horrific and spontaneous attack on two young women as they slept in their own home,” said Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Vanessa Rolfe. “Bori had her entire life ahead of her, which Soj cruelly took away.”
“I applaud Soj’s guilty plea for sparing Klaudia and Bori’s families from a trial. I hope today’s sentence brings comfort and justice to Bori’s family and Klaudia. It’s encouraging to hear Klaudia is recovering and trying to move on with her life.”
Family Pays Tribute to Bright Future Lost
Bori’s mother said: “Bori had a mission and a bright future ahead. She dedicated her life to the education and development of children, living by Christian principles. Within seconds, she earned children’s trust and love.”
“Her dream was to open a special needs school in Hungary. She said, ‘I will build an inclusive school, and it will be a cool place!’ To honour her memory, we have set up the Bori Benko Foundation for Children in Hungary to continue her mission of making the world a better place.”
