Young Brit’s Terror Plot Foiled: Life Behind Bars for Firearms Plan
Plotter Caught En Route to Buy Gun
Edward Little, just 22, was nabbed by police while travelling from Brighton to London to buy a firearm. The youngster had been carefully researching firearms, picking his target, and plotting an attack.
Digital Trail Exposes Terror Plans
After his arrest on September 23, 2022, officers seized his digital devices. They uncovered numerous fake social media accounts on platforms like Telegram, Theema, Instagram, and Snapchat. Using false names, Little had been lurking online, downloading extremist Islamic content between July 27 and August 7, 2022.
Just a day before his arrest, he streamed videos focused on firearms and jihad, raising red flags.
Violent Outburst in Custody
On September 28, while being interviewed, Little suddenly attacked a police officer, lunging across the table. He later admitted assaulting an emergency worker and was handed an eight-month sentence.
Life Sentence for Terror Preparation
Today at Central Criminal Court, Little was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 16 years, for preparing to commit terrorist acts. He had pleaded guilty back in May 2023.
