Paedophile Caught After 19 Years
Nigha Hussain’s sick abuse began in 1995 when his victim was just eight years old. Back then, the pervert, around 22 years old, exposed himself to the girl multiple times in Bradford.
Justice Delivered After Years of Silence
The abuse stopped in 2000, but the victim only found the courage to report it to West Yorkshire Police in 2014. Hussain, now 48 and from Court Road, Birmingham, faced charges of seven counts of indecent assault, three counts of attempted rape of a child, and indecency with a child.
Following a nine-day trial at Bradford Crown Court, Hussain was sentenced on July 29, 2021, to a whopping 18 years behind bars. He got 14 years for attempted child rape, four years for indecent assault (to run back-to-back), and three years for indecency with a child (running concurrently).
He’s also been slapped with a lifelong spot on the sex offenders register.
Police Praise Victim’s Bravery
“The actions of Hussain had a lasting impact on the victim, which is why she decided to come forward many years later and report what he had done, and I’d like to commend her bravery for doing so,” said West Yorkshire Police’s Investigating Officer Deborah Thornes.
“Although his crimes were committed years ago, it does not diminish the severity of his actions, and I am glad that he has been brought to justice and will now spend a considerable amount of time behind bars. It’s a small price to pay for the lasting impact his actions had on this victim.
“I would encourage anyone who has been subject to this type of behaviour to please contact West Yorkshire Police, you will be listened to, and we will do our utmost to bring the perpetrator to justice.”
This case sends a strong message: no matter how long ago, predators will be caught and locked up.
