Cold-Blooded Killer Stabs Man Six Times Over Designer Bag in South London
Tram Ride Turns Deadly
Samuel Odupitan, 24, stabbed Tyler Roye six times in a brutal attack as the victim headed home after work in south London last February. Prosecutors revealed Odupitan spotted 24-year-old Tyler on the tram and murdered him in cold blood — all for a designer bag.
Guilty Verdict at Croydon Crown Court
The defendant from Croydon was found guilty of murder after a trial at Croydon Crown Court. He’d already pleaded guilty to four counts of robbery linked to the attack, which happened shortly after midnight on January 26.
Futile Struggle for Life
Tyler, who worked at the Holiday Inn in Stratford, left the tram in Woodside and had just answered a call from his girlfriend when Odupitan confronted him, demanding his possessions.
After a savage struggle, Odupitan ran off with a second-hand Bengal tiger print designer bag. Tyler staggered to a friend’s house nearby before collapsing inside. He was rushed to hospital but tragically died just before 3am.
